No one would take a gang seriously if it complained about police efforts to stop them - so why is Thailand's opposition being taken seriously as it complains about defense budgets their own serial violence has made necessary?
October 18, 2019 (Tony Cartalucci - ATN) - Thai courts recently upheld fines for opposition leaders responsible for city-wide arson in 2010.
Jatuporn Prompan, Nattawut Saikuar and Weng Tojirakarn - all past or current members of Thailand's opposition Pheu Thai Party (PTP) - were ordered to pay 30.5 million baht plus 7.5% interest in damages for arson they led in 2010 targeting the CentreOne department store - Bangkok Post would report.
It is just one of many cases involving the armed terrorism and nation-wide arson Thailand's opposition carried out in 2009 and again in 2010 leading to nearly 100 dead.
This same opposition - when in power from 2011 to 2014 - also organized terrorism against anti-government protesters in 2014 leading to 20 deaths including several children.
Yet this same opposition - now joined by subsidiaries like Future Forward led by nepotist billionaire Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit - is decrying Thailand's defense budget.
The Nation in an article titled, "Opposition rejects 2020 budget, accuses govt of focusing more on arms than people’s hardship," reported:
Indeed, Future Forward's Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit has been recently caught associating with the leaders of Hong Kong's ongoing violence - violence funded by the same US government supporting Future Forward itself - aimed at dividing and destabilizing China.
Consider also Future Forward - in a joint campaign with Pheu Thai - has attempted to exasperate violent separatism in Thailand's deep south by proposing constitutional rewriting opening the door to dividing Thai territory. It would seem that Thailand does indeed face an "emergency situation" from within its own borders.
There is an opposition guilty of serial armed insurrection, terrorism, nation-wide arson - now currently consorting with foreign agitators and domestic separatists - attempting to attack and undermine the nation's defense budget - a budget that would obviously involve procuring resources needed to deal with future violence carried out by an opposition still very eager to organize and carry it out.
Pheu Thai and Future Forward's criticism of Thailand's defense budget is like a gang's criticism of police buying more police cars, handcuffs, and building more prison cells to arrest and imprison them.
It is unimaginable that a gang complaining about police efforts to stop them would ever be taken seriously - so why is Thailand's opposition being taken seriously as it complains about defense budgets their own serial violence has made necessary?

Anudit Nakorntab, Pheu Thai MP, called on the government to postpone its plans to purchase arms, especially since the country is not facing an emergency situation and that the issue of people facing economic hardship is more important.Neither The Nation nor Pheu Thai/Future Forward were able to explain how an opposition whose members are convicted of arson and pending charges ranging from insurrection to sedition - don't constitute an "emergency situation."
Indeed, Future Forward's Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit has been recently caught associating with the leaders of Hong Kong's ongoing violence - violence funded by the same US government supporting Future Forward itself - aimed at dividing and destabilizing China.
