Terrorism Promoter Speaks at Thai Anti-Government "Student" Rally

Fugitive billionaire's chief propagandist - who promoted terrorism and violence in 2010 - will be a key speaker at September 19th anti- government rally.

September 19, 2020 (Tony Cartalucci - ATN) - Convicted criminal and terrorism promoter Somyot Prueksakasemsuk is confirmed by Thailand's anti-government protest leaders as one of the featured speakers at their rally later today.

Somyot Prueksakasemsuk had been the editor of billionaire fugitive Thaksin Shinawatra's "Voice of Taksin" magazine.

The magazine regularly threatened and promoted violence including calling for the burning of Bangkok, the killing of Thai soldiers, the doxxing and threatening of judges ruling in criminal cases against Thaksin Shinawatra, and calls for nationwide armed insurrection.

While he was imprisoned and later released by Thailand's authorities for libeling the nation's head of state, his sentence was lenient compared to what he would have been charged with and sentenced for had he carried his crimes out in Western nations like the United States, United Kingdom, or the European Union.

Despite attempts by the Western media to claim current anti-government protests in Thailand are "student-led," all evidence reveals them to be organized by Thailand's billionaire-led opposition - including Thaksin Shinawatra and Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit - and the US government.

Virtually every aspect of the protests from its core leadership, to media promoting them, to organizations petitioning for the rewriting of Thailand's constitution, and even groups bringing bodies to fill up protests are funded by the US government.

Now omitted from Western media reports - the initial protests carried out late last year and earlier this year were led in the street by billionaire Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit - before rebranding the mobs as "student-led," "organic," and "spontaneous."

Thai PBS in its December 2019 article, "Thanathorn vows to bring people onto streets after rally in downtown Bangkok," would note as early as December 2019 that:

Addressing the demonstrators, Thanathorn said the rally was just a harbinger of more political activities against the Prayut government.  He threatened to “bring people to the streets...”

With Thaksin Shinawatra's chief propagandist now literally a key speaker at the September 19th rally, and his anti-Thai rhetoric repeated verbatim by "student" protests - there should be little doubt left as to who is really behind these so-called "student protests" and what their true purpose is - and that they are merely hiding behind notions of "democracy."

Any lingering doubt is owed only to the Western media's deliberate attempts to conceal who Somyot Prueksakasemsuk is, what he has done, and what his presence at the rally obviously represents. Many across the Western media have attempted to depict him as a "political prisoner" despite his overtly criminal activities and the many lives destroyed by his promotion of violence.

Real fears exist of the mobs turning violent. In addition to Thaksin Shinawatra's chief propagandist appearing on stage, his "red shirt" street mobs are also going to be filling in the crowd - admittedly bused into Bangkok from across the country's northeast region in the days leading up to the rally.

Violence promoted by Somyot Prueksakasemsuk was eventually carried out in mid-2010 with armed militants and arsonists triggering gun battles in Bangkok killing nearly 100 and burning entire sections of the city down. His involvement in leading current protests is troubling. So too is the fact that US-funded organizations involved in current protests have been concurrently assisting supporters of this previous terrorism.

Only through repeated lies can the Western media attempt to maintain the illusion of legitimacy behind these recent anti-government protests in Thailand - just as the Western media attempted to do in Hong Kong. Only through repeatedly confronting these lies can Thailand's government be freed to effectively deal with an opposition funded from the worst, most corrupt, violent interests both at home and from abroad.
