VIDEOS: US-backed Opposition Opposes Cheap Drugs for Thais

Is it just a coincidence that Thailand's political opposition receives funding and backing from the US and just so happens to be promoting an agenda eagerly pursued by US-based pharmaceutical giants against Thailand for years?

January 26, 2021 (Brian Berletic - LD) - US-backed opposition leader and billionaire Thanathorn has attacked the Thai government's response to COVID-19 and its hesitation to rush into a vaccine campaign.

He also attacked Siam Bioscience - a Thai pharmaceutical production enterprise set up by Thailand's Royal Family and in cooperation with Cuba's Center of Molecular Immunology - for not being profitable - despite its mission statement being to make affordable medication available to the Thai people - not to make huge profits. I explain how despite the Western media claiming Thanathorn is the "Billionaire Commoner," he is actually an out-of-touch billionaire trying to rush Thailand into buying up untested and potentially dangerous vaccines from Western pharmaceutical giants like Pfizer and Moderna.

The US-backed opposition is also pressuring the government to rush into a vaccination program and lying about the costs of AstraZeneca’s vaccines and about the nature of the deal made with the Thai government for vaccines, technology transfers, and the manufacturing of vaccines in Thailand.

And while Thanathorn attempts to distance himself from (or hide behind) the increasingly violent and unpopular anti-government mobs in the streets - these same mobs are helping carry out his attack on Siam Bioscience.

I explain why the opposition's US government funding is directly related to its attempts to attack and undermine Thailand's attempts to establish pharmaceutical self-sufficiency.
